Whats App controversial Terms and Conditions are now optional to accept

WhatsApp is going to make the acceptance of new terms and conditions optional. However, the users who wish to message certain business accounts will still have to accept the terms.

Whatsapp reportedly makes its terms and conditions of service optional for users. Back in January, the instant messaging service updated its privacy policy and terms to better merge with other products and services offered by its parent company Facebook.

These updates faced a huge backlash from several users and privacy advocates. Many users in protest shifted to other similar applications like Signal and Telegram. But now it seems like Whatsapp will make consent to new terms optional.

According to the report by WABetInfo, Whatsapp will make accepting the new terms and conditions optional in an upcoming update. Moreover, only the users who want to connect with business accounts that use cloud providers will have to accept these conditions Gadget 360 reported.

WABetInfo also shared the screenshot depicting the privacy policy statement:

“WhatsApp recently updated its terms and privacy policy. The business uses a secure service from the Facebook company to manage chats. To chat with business, review and accept the WhatsApp update.” There are two options — ‘Not now’ and ‘Review.’

WhatsApp previously has faced a lot of criticism for its updated terms of service. Previously this year the data sharing policy of Whatsapp with the parent company Facebook attracted a huge amount of criticism from privacy advocates and users. Another reason for the outcry was disabling certain options for users on not accepting these terms and conditions.

Seems like Whatsapp is also bringing innovations for its users. As recently it was reported that the messaging app is working on message reactions that are similar to Instagram, Twitter, and iMessage. According to many sources, the app is still testing the message reactions internally so not even beta testers have access to it. Another report which is hovering nowadays a lot is that WhatsApp might change its color scheme for Android Apps.
