To Make Mental Health Accessible, Nets $8M

The workplace mental wellness platform nilo. health  bags  pre-seed funding of $8M.

After Mindgram, another Berlin and Munich based startup focusing on workplace mental health has raised funding of $8M. Some of the most robust investors such as Speedinvest led the funding round. The other participants  were from PROfounders, Vorwerk Ventures and pre-seed investor Atlantic Labs and angel investors including Thomas Buberl, Jonas Rieke, Oliver Manojlovic, Hanno Renner,and Michael Wax.

With this funding  the  startup aims to spread across Europe. The mental wellness platform also plans expansion of its global provider network from 22 to over 40 languages.

Increasing its language options is  manifestation of the fact that startup wants to make mental health especially in workplaces more accessible.  Because soon with changing times mental health will become a priority for companies. As Ines Räth, the Co-Founder of said

“In the years to come, in addition to offering physical health benefits like Gympass or Urban Sports Club, mental health services will absolutely become the norm for every business.”

Räth is right, the providence of mental health services is  becoming mandatory for businesses. As mental health problems are somehow intrinsically linked with the workplace.

As per the Deloitte Global 2021 Millennial and GenZ  survey, reported that respondents experienced increased levels of stress and anxiety at work. Furthermore, the ratio of reporting was also drastically low with only  6  among 10 employees coming forward. Thus heightening the need for companies to prioritize mental health now more than ever.

With such a vital solution, the startup initiated its working in 2019. It was founded by the team of three Ines Räth, Catalina Turlea and Jonas Keil.

The German startup concentrates on delivering mental health as a workplace benefit. It also supports individual sessions with psychologists to group sessions and other self guided tools.

Currently supporting  120 customers globally.  nilo supports the entire workforce therapists and provides digital content. It also empowers the employees with individual counseling sessions and evidence based digital training.

Moreover,  also allowing the users to effectively manage anxiety, sleep deprivation and stress. Also, its monthly well-being assessment assists the users to track their well-being.

All in all, the startup’s goal is to remove the stigma around mental health. As Jonas Keil, co-founder of, said

 “Our goal is to remove the stigma and give people exactly the support they need to work through their challenges.”
