Today marks the launch of the second beta of Android 12 by Google. The primary Beta was launched previously in May at Google’s I/O conference which showed us a few insights of Google’s new design system known as  “Material You”.

Google is bringing a greater amount of features and design tweaks to its analyzers in Beta 2,  such as a security dashboard that allows users to check what permissions apps are using, and which ones were used by the apps launched in the last 24 hours.

Along with this, another new feature that is being talked about is a system-wide theme based on the wallpaper currently in use. When in use, the design of the volume slider, lock screen clock, quick settings would be changed according to the theme. Android users are the most excited about this update in particular as it will allow them to customize their smartphones theme according to their choice.

Other than this, Beta 2 also comes with a new functionality for Quick settings. Now, users are able to quickly connect to the internet or mobile data by tapping a new  ‘Internet’ toggle . Moreover, there are also new toggles for smart home controls and Google Play, as well as toggles to access camera, microphone, and more.

It is reported that these are not the only changes coming to Google’s mobile OS, these are only a few of the ones present in the public Beta for now. Features for more immersive experiences such as audio-coupled haptic feedback, and more, are going to be launched once developer implementation is completed.
