Google mobile shopping app wouldn’t be available for download in the next few months since Google has decided to shut down the app as a whole.
The tech giant recently broke the news that it is ending its shopping app support on both; iOS and Android. It has been reported that the app will be available for the next couple of weeks and will be added to the Google graveyard by the end of June.
According to a Google spokesperson, “Within the next few weeks, we’ll no longer be supporting the Shopping app. All of the functionality the app offered users is available on the Shopping tab. We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that make it easy for people to discover and shop for the products they love.”
Perhaps, one of the main reasons for the company to kill the app is the interface similarity of the mobile shopping app and the web version. The move comes as Google intends to conserve its engineering resources.
RIP Google Shopping's mobile app. Google is preparing to sunset it. New fragment in v59 of the Android app.

Users will still be able to use the Google Shopping website
As for the site shopping.google.com, it will remain active for users and will allow them to make online purchases using their Google accounts. “We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app,” the search giant said.
With Google Shopping app getting axed soon, we can expect the company to release new products that will focus on digital accessibility during this ongoing pandemic.
Though the app is expected to function this month and the next, some people have reported seeing a “something went wrong” notice. Though it’s working fine for some, it’s best that you search for a reliable alternative if you are someone who relies on the app.
