Foodtech Startup Deliveristo Nets €7M To Launch New Services For Suppliers & Customers

Milan-based Deliveristo bags €7M for its innovative food tech marketplace and plans to launch new services for customers and suppliers.

Foodtech startup Deliveristo has gathered investment of  €7 million in a round led by Vertis, Italian venture capital and private equity firm through “Vertis Venture 5 Scaleup” fund, United Ventures SGR, through United Ventures II fund which also led Deliveristo’s €4.5 million Series A round in December 2020, Azimut Libera Impresa SGR via Azimut Digitech Fund, Italian Angels for Growth (IAG), Doorway, Gellify and Digital Investments.

The Italian company is targeting hospitality, retail, catering space and has clasped its position as a leading market leader. Deliveristo is not the first foodtech startup to fetch this huge funding-some of the famous ones are CALO, Peckwater, and Eaden. Food tech industry in Europe has grown exponentially and startups like Deliveristo are destined to grow because of their wide array of services.

Launched in 2019 by Ivan Aimo, Luca Calia and Gabriele Angeleri Deliveristo-the startup  connects restaurant owners and suppliers. Its mission is to innovate and digitize the Ho.Re.Ca. (Hopsitality, Retail, and Catering)  supply chain.

Via Deliveristo’s platform and app chefs and restaurateurs have access to a constantly growing catalogue of food and beverage products. Additionally, the operators can access the catalogue which also includes artisanal and local products, quickly and easily. Also, select what they want and receive the products directly to their restaurants or bars.  Also, suppliers which include both distributors and producers can increase visibility and turnover by selling products to over 1.300 subscribers to the platform. With inclusion of chefs, shops, restaurants and the new delivery only businesses like cloud kitchens.

Until now, Deliveristo’ customer base is located in cities of Milan, Rome, Turin, Bologna and Florence whilst the supplier base is present throughout Italy.
