Deloitte Canada Launches Deloitte AI Institute
Toronto, March 3, 2021 — Deloitte Canada announced the official launch of Deloitte AI institute, a center that would help promote AI adoption, research, and eminence across different sectors of the economy.
The main aim of the institute is to bring together the sharpest minds in the AI field to apply advanced research to help address a wide range of relevant AI use cases.
“The Deloitte AI Institute is being established to advance the conversation and development of AI for enterprises,” said Nitin Mittal, AI co-leader and principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP. “Our goal is to blend Deloitte’s deep experience in applied AI with a robust network of some of the most intelligent AI minds in the world to challenge the status quo. Through the power of this center, we aim to deliver impactful and game-changing research; and innovation to help our clients lead in the ‘Age of With,’ a world where humans work side-by-side with machines.”
As for now, the institute does not hold a physical address, and will be run remotely. It will be led by Anam Sivia, an AI strategy consultant at Deloitte, and Audrey Ancion, Senior Manager at Omnia, Deloitte’s Artificial Intelligence practice.
According to the company the institute will consist of academic luminaries, key industry players, businessmen, start-ups, research and development groups, innovators and investors.
This group of intellectuals along with Deloitte’s depth of applied AI knowledge and understanding of pain points across industries and sectors —including ethical challenges, data acquisition and storage, security issues or risk associated with AI — can help create groundbreaking AI solutions to help accelerate AI adoption across organizations.
“Our purpose is to advance Canadians’ knowledge of topical AI issues by highlighting exciting research developments, business applications and invaluable thought leadership on both the risks and power of AI,” said Audrey Ancion, AI Institute Canada lead. “The Institute provides an unparalleled opportunity to demonstrate how AI is already transforming organizational decision-making, creating dramatic efficiencies and adding new capabilities while powering sustainable, value-building activities.”
